INTO PLACE BY THE MEMBERSHIP. PLEASE
REVIEW THIS DOCUMENT AND SIGN THE APPLICATION OR RENEWAL IF YOU AGREE WITH
THE WAY THE ORGANIZATION IS RUN AND ARE WILLING TO ABIDE BY ITS RULES. I accept that the rules
of this club are in place to keep it running smoothly. I understand
that it took much time, effort and consideration on the part of the voting
membership to adopt these principles and that each one was decided upon
strictly by majority vote and not by any individual. I fully understand and
accept that this club is a non-profit, does not conduct fundraisers and
receives revenues mainly from membership dues. As such, I accept the fact that in order to ensure the
continuity of this club, renewals and recruitment of new members must be
ongoing. I understand and accept
that this club does not have the formal structure of a board of directors or
officers other than a Treasurer who will show the books upon request to any
member once a year at a regular
monthly meeting with a month’s notice as was advised as being proper
procedure from the CPA whose expertise was used in setting up this club. |

I understand and accept
that the following basic rules were voted on and adopted by the majority of
the membership and that this is the way the Oxford Women’s Social Club has
chosen to run as being fair for all: 1) Our rules can be
changed only as follows: Suggestions for changes must be brought up and
discussed at a monthly meeting. Only
those members in attendance at a meeting can vote. Only show-of-hand votes by members present are accepted. Majority in attendance rules. Signatures on petitions by members not in
attendance are not valid as members must be in attendance at a monthly
meeting in order to have a vote. 2) Any
non-member woman may attend one club activity by calling the hostess of that
activity and informing her that she wishes to attend as a
First-Time-Guest. In order to attend
a second activity, her membership application and check must be received at
the address below. [Allowing
non-members to attend more than one activity was not accepted by the majority
and was voted into practice as being most fair –long term- for all.] 3) A hostess is responsible for
submitting her list of attendees to Linda -each time- BEFORE the activity
takes place so that she (Linda) can notify any guests of this rule ahead of
time. 4) Members receive renewal notification a month before their
membership is due - the last day of the month in which they joined. It has been voted into practice that the
fairest method for all is to allow no
grace period for renewals. If members do not renew by their due date,
they have automatically forfeited their membership and cannot attend another
club activity until or unless they renew.
5) Any monthly club activity that knowingly allows a non-renewed
member to attend shall be dropped from the club as a future activity. Again, this is the result of majority rule
as being fair practice for all. I understand and accept
that all club activities are suggested and organized by our members and that
I am expected to either organize or host at least one activity per year or
volunteer for one of the other jobs required on an as-needed basis. I understand and accept
that the yearly membership dues of $25 per person were set by majority vote with
renewals due the last day of the month I originally applied and that if they
are not received by that date, I will forfeit my membership and will no
longer be able to attend any club activity until and unless I do renew. Dues are non-refundable. As a member I will honor
and support the friendships made within the group and keep personal
information shared with me by other members in confidence. I understand, fully agree with and will
try my best to live up to the club’s mission statement which is: “Girls Just Wanna’ Have
Fun!” I pledge to have as much fun as
humanly possible at all club activities because it is contagious and we sure
do need more fun and laughter in the world today! I have read the above,
will abide by the rules and wish to become a member or renew my membership in
the Oxford Women’s Social Club. X *Signature *Date A check in the amount of

application gives the club permission to post your personal contact
